Practical Information

Date and Place of the School

The Fourth Asia-Europe-Pacific School of High-Energy Physics will be held from 12 to 25 September 2018 in Quy Nhon, Vietnam.
All the participants will be housed in the Seagull Hotel in Quy Nhon, and the conference facilities for the lectures and discussion sessions will be provided by ICISE.

The students, faculty and staff of the School will be lodged in the Seagull Hotel. Students will share twin rooms with bathrooms. Please note that the rooms will be allocated by the Organizers, mixing students of different nationalities with a view to promoting cultural exchanges between them. Photographs of the ICISE and the hotel vicinity are shown below.

The lecture hall and the rooms for the discussion sessions are situated in the conference-centre complex of the ICISE.

Breakfast will be served at the hotel whilst lunch and evening meals will be served in the restaurant of the conference centre. At the hotel there is a bar where participants will be able to purchase drinks in the evenings. Free wireless internet will be provided for all participants, but please note that the bandwith will be very limited and coverage may be restricted to certain public areas of the hotel and conference centre.

Travel Arrangements

Students who are selected to attend the School should arrange to arrive in Quy Nhon for registration during the afternoon or evening of Wednesday 12 September. The School will end on the morning of Tuesday 25 September after breakfast.

On the day of arrival a free pick-up service will be organized between Quy Nhon airport (airport code: UIH) and the hotel. Similarly, on the departure day, free transport will be offered to the airport. Note that students should not make firm bookings for travel to the school before they have been formally accepted, and travel arrangements for funded students must be agreed in advance by the School organizers.

The working language of the School will be English. Participants must therefore have a good understanding of English to enable them to benefit from the School.

The School Proceedings will be published as a CERN Yellow Report and a KEK Report. Each participant is entitled to one copy free of charge (on request).
